Matthew 28:17-20
When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying,"All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
In 2nd Timothy 4:6-8 the Apostle Paul said he was "Already being poured out as a drink offering, and that the time of his departure had come." He considers himself as on the eve of being sacrificed, and looks upon his blood as the libation which was poured on the sacrificial offering. He could not have spoken this positively had not the sentence of death been already passed upon him.
He went on to say that he had, "Fought the good fight, finished the race, and had kept the faith." However, the Apostle Paul was not disappointed that his time had come to depart this life, not at all. He knew that he would soon meet Jesus Christ face to face and that he would receive the righteous crown and reward promised to all those who faithfully serve and love Him with all their heart, soul, mind and stregnth, which Paul certainly did do.
This is the moment in every Christian's life that they should look forward to the most, and Paul certainly did which was made known to us by the words he spoke next which read, "In the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the righteous Judge, will award me on that day; and not only me, but also to all who loved His appearing." So in 2nd Timothy 4:5 Paul instructs us to do four things just before he departed this world to enter into the eternal glory God prepared before hand for all those who love Him.
"Be sober in all things - endure hardship -
do the work of an evangelist - and fulfill your ministry."

Our mission is to go wherever God sends us and preach the gospel, the good news. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
God has given us a hunger, a passion for the lost souls of the world. Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."
The harvest is now, and we are the laborers, the called and chosen vessels of the Lord. Desperate to bring the hope of eternal life through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Equip
Paul instructed us to equip the saints for the work of the ministry for the building up of the body of Christ, Ephesians 4:12. Part of our mission as evangelist is to work hand in hand with the local churches, which is the body of Christ, in an effort to follow up with each individual coming to faith in Jesus Christ.
The purpose in this is to assist each individual in finding a church home and family in Christ, helping them to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus.
As we grow in His grace and knowledge, we become more and more aware of the gifts and talents He gave us when He ascended into heaven and gave gifts to men. And what God originally planned from the start.
Ephesians 2:10 says we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God Himself preordained beforehand for us to walk in. So we understand that discipleship is the key to preserving the Christian faith throughout all generations.
And that's what Paul meant when he said, "Fulfill your ministry." And Jesus Himself said in Matthew 16:18, "Upon this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it." As we equip the saints for the work of the ministry, Jesus, the Carpenter, is building His church, the body of Christ, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. Amen.

Jesus Himself gave this commandment in Matthew 28:18-20. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. It's our responsibility as the body of Christ to equip the saints for the work of the ministry then send them out, fully equipped, and ready to do the work God created them to do.
Matthew 9:35-38, Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."
